Kaupapa Māori Supervision

As part of our commitment to quality service delivery within communities, we offer contracted services for external Kaupapa Māori supervision. Kaupapa Māori supervision is often undervalued and misunderstood.

We understand Kaupapa Maori supervision to be:

“A formalized process between supervisor and supervisee that seeks to develop and maintain a practitioner’s cultural competence, professional functioning and wellbeing while also safe-guarding service delivery and client care”. Sonya MacFarlane, MOE

In our experience practitioners who attend regular kaupapa Māori supervision with us are better able to:

- Reflect upon their own scope of practice
- Articulate and uphold Māori philosophies, core values and ethics
- Work resiliently in often challenging and changeable work environments
- Identify and implement self-management techniques and wellness strategies
- Identify and implement professional competence or areas for improvement
