KO AU - Māori Leadership Programme

KO AU simply translates as I AM. It is a reclamation of all that we are and those who we represent, past, present and future.

As a Māori leadership and professional development training programme, KO AU is available to whānau and Māori practitioners who are interested in developing,

transforming and realising the potential of their own whanau, hapu and iwi.

The programme seeks to engage and connect participants to core philosophies, values, beliefs and practices that have shaped and formed Māori since time immemorial. In

turn, participants are encouraged to explore their own identity, values and belief systems that have influenced their own life decisions and direction.

Over the course of the programme, participants will be encouraged to think deeply and honestly about themselves, exploring the many relationships and contexts in which

they both live and work. Participants will gain a greater understanding of the significance of their worldview, values, beliefs and behaviour and how this influences the

decisions made and the quality of relationships formed with others. The programme also examines the participants own willingness and ability to engage with and lead

others more effectively, in particular their own whānau, hapu and iwi.

By the end of the six modules, participants will be deemed competent as a Whānau Practitioner.
